The Most Beloved Green Flags
Dear reader, it has been a while since we last saw each other. What a lie, right? If you are a frequent visitor to this site and, most particularly, the editorial section, you may have noticed my name popping up in the past few months, and today is another day where I am putting out another crazy article! Well, this might be the most tame one, but...
In this article, we are going to look at green-flag male characters in TV series, which is a major change, right? I feel that the older audience is a bit used to red flag characters, but today we are going to literally celebrate the green flags, which we all crave to have in real life! I mean, who doesn’t like peace and harmony in their lives?
Just a quick reminder that this list consists of my personal choices, but I did wink at the MDL comment section and feeds to reassure myself that I am not the only one that feels this way with these leads!

Before we dive deep into this list, I want to talk a bit more about who even a green flag character is. As the National Domestic Violence Hotline says, we use the term “green flag” to highlight positive actions or traits. These are usually signs of healthy behavior. Among the traits we can see are good communication skills, respect, honesty, trust, equality, consent, and the existence of boundaries.

YU JI HYEOK
Yu Ji Hyeok is the main lead character from the popular TV series Marry My Husband, and he is definitely in the Green Flag Club!
So, what makes him so green? Well, he is a great man who supports everyone he cherishes and holds dear, but he is also firm in his beliefs and tries to uphold moral values. The thing that he definitely stands out for is the utmost respect he had for the female lead and the amount of support he offered not only her but the characters around him as well.
Also, did I mention that he is a cat lover as well? Instant positive point!

YI JUN HO
Yi Jun Ho is the main lead character in the massively popular South Korean TV series “Extraordinary Attorney Woo Young Woo” from 2022.
Dear humans, this character is a great example of how we should treat each other in relationships. I can proudly say that this character is the green flag of 2022, and I doubt I’ll ever change my mind. So, what makes him so special? Since Jun Ho is in a romantic relationship with our lovely U Yeong U, who is very special, it is clear as day that the relationship has to be special as well, and in reality, not many people seem to realize it. Yes, the love is the same, but the approach is a bit different. Jun Ho is known for being incredibly patient, loving, caring, and, most importantly, he respects boundaries, which are so important. Also, relationships are about learning about each other, and this man simply took this personally, so basically, his whole relationship is homework done well!
Also, is anyone up for a date with dolphins in the background? I mean, they aren’t whales, but...let’s be happy with them as well!

KUROSAWA YUICHI
Kurosawa Yuichi is the main lead character from the popular live adaptation of a Japanese manga series, Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! and also does belong to this awesome list!
Now, with the influx of BL in Asia, we get to meet a lot of main characters, but Asia isn’t shy and does adapt to sometimes quite darker things, which I also like (if done correctly), but since this article is about green flags, I simply had to put Kurosawa on this list! So, how can we describe him? Since we know him on a very deep level—thanks to the mind-reading skills of other character, which made me think of Twilight—we know that Kurosawa is a romantic on a whole new level! He is basically a big romance fluff kitty who, despite his professional look, is a big kitty waiting to be coddled. He loves affection, and when he falls in love, he falls deeply. He is very attentive and observant, and because of those amazing observing skills, he is such a great partner. He can read body language quite well, knows what the other is feeling, and absolutely respects it. Respect plays a big role in the romantic relationship Kurosawa is in, along with trust. Just like the title says, someone is virgin, and oftentimes in the real world, the term of virginity is often mocked or looked down upon. Here, Kurosawa says, "STOP,” and shows us how to treat sexually inexperienced people with the utmost respect and care.

YUN NA MU
Yun Na Mu is a male lead character from the South Korean TV series “Come & Hug Me,” which aired in 2018.
If someone says “green flag,” my mind immediately drifts to this character, which was portrayed by an amazing actor. It is very hard to describe this complex character without giving any spoilers, but let’s just say that the “fighting” spirit is truly the driving force in this character. Na Mu is a very selfless person who tries every day to make others around him safe and happy. He isn’t pushy, and in one word, he is very empathic. He deeply cares about others, to the point where he oftentimes forgets to look after himself. He is loving, caring, and protective.

TANKHUN THEERAPANYAKUL
Tankhun is a minor character from the popular Thai series "KinnPorsche”!
When we talk about green or red flags, we often immediately think about romantic relationships, but let me tell you, even friendships have red and green flags! Since this article isn’t specifically talking about green flags in romantic relationships, I decided to include this amazingly vibrant character.
Now, who is this man, and why did I include him on this list? Well, he is loyal, trustworthy, courageous, righteous, stubborn, a bit naive, and a good-hearted person who is, in my opinion, a friend we all need in our lives! Someone is bad towards you. Tankhun is there to back you up, in various ways. You need a party buddy? Yep, he is there for you. You want to cry? Hold on, because Tankhun is there to play his favorite South Korean TV series to cheer you up. Even though he comes from a dangerous environment, he truly cares for others around him (even animals), and being of higher status doesn’t stop him from befriending other, less economically fortunate people.
If someone asked me to pick a character that I would want to befriend, it would be this man.

MASTER KIM
Since this article isn’t only about green flags in romantic relationships, I have included another green flag character, and this time from a workplace point of view! I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a good leader at the workplace. Someone you can rely on, go to when facing difficulties, or just get good advice from. Master Kim is a head doctor from the very popular South Korean medical TV series ''Dr. Romantic'', where he plays the main character, who mentors young doctors and makes them into amazing medical practitioners.
Since I work in healthcare myself, I really can speak from experience. I wish we had more team leaders like Master Kim, because oftentimes, the medical workplace is filled with toxic people who flash their egos at every corner.
