Shower Thoughts – The Surprising Guests of Mind

INTRODUCTION

It happened to me and, for sure, to you.

Shower thoughts, or toilet thoughts, are sudden thoughts that occur at odd places; hence the name shower thoughts. Some people use the shower as their concert hall, while others, like me, use the shower as a place to think about things I wouldn’t normally think about. Yes, some people have such thoughts while falling asleep, and thus those thoughts contribute to insomnia, but usually, such thoughts happen in the shower.

With that being said, I would love to welcome you inside of my head; hopefully, we can address all my shower thoughts. Who knows? We might be having the same shower thoughts, which would be a bit creepy, but hey, aren’t we all a bit creepy?

Since my mind is a very creative place to live, I won’t be sharing all of my shower thoughts. I’m going to only be talking about those thoughts that directly have something to do with Asian culture, actors, actresses, TV series, or movies.

Please do not take this article as something overly serious; I made it to entertain myself and you.

‘’Isn’t the cast of horror movies afraid that they’re going to get haunted by some entity?’

As someone who is afraid of ghostly entities, I can’t help but wonder how the actors and actresses are coping with filming such series or movies. I would be more than creeped out, and I would be scared that I would indeed summon something and that something would end my life.

‘’Do actors and actresses know the ending of the TV series or movie when they are reading the script? What if they learn of the ending as they are filming the TV series or movie and hate the ending? Do they just quit or push on because of other factors?’

Listen, I can be a bit petty, and I can imagine myself in the actor’s shoes. Let me tell you, if I read that the project I am working on has a bad ending, I would just call it quits. I would even call the scriptwriter and beg them to change the ending because who spent hours learning the script, huh?!

‘’Actors and actresses often must eat and drink at certain scenes. What if someone had a bad reaction? Do they just say ‘cut’ or do they push through even though the pants, skirt, or dress are already ripping through?’

Look, as I grow older, my guts aren’t as tough as they used to be, okay? Call it genetics, since my father suffers from the same thing. I often make bad food decisions and thus have to live with the consequences, but what about those actors and actresses? Imagine they are doing an amazing job—the tears are flowing down, the mood is perfect. Suddenly, they have this urge to... Do they just stop the perfect take to save themselves from embarrassment, or do they push through with the risk of... you know what?

‘’Kissing scene. What if one of the pairs has never kissed? Do they practice beforehand? Does the virgin kisser admit to being a virgin kisser? Would the other, more skilled person get mad?!’

I know, it might be a dumb thought, but aren’t all shower thoughts a bit like that? We are sticking to the theme of shower thoughts, so bear with me. I can’t be the only one thinking about the young actors and actresses who change their roles from minor roles to major roles, usually in the romance genre. I know, actors and actresses do have lives outside of their projects, but let’s stick to the ‘’what if’’, okay? What if the actors or actresses never kissed, even outside of the project? What would be the steps? I know there isn’t a guideline to this, but it does make me wonder how they solve these minor incidents.

‘’Wait, so Adachi can read minds because his cherry is still intact, but what would happen if Kurosawa had the same ‘condition’? How would such mind-reading work?’

As a huge fan of the Cherry Magic franchise, this one thought kept popping up in my mind in the shower. Usually, I do think about the TV series I am currently watching, and this same thought appeared in my mind when I was watching the original Japanese version, and now, with the Thai remake, I keep thinking about it.

‘’What new functions does the robot main lead, Nam Sin III, have? Can he ehm...’’

After so many years, I have seen a lot of weird-themed TV series and movies, but the robotics and AI genres are still something new—at least for me. If anyone has watched the series ‘’Are you human too?’’ you know what my shower thought is about. I can’t talk about it in depth, but if you have seen the ending, you know perfectly well what I am thinking about. Let’s keep this article PG13 though and continue, but don’t forget to answer my shower thought down in the comment section, please. I do want to solve this, okay?

‘’What if Kawi dropped the magic ball during his time travel? Would he be stuck in the limbo?’

If you haven’t seen the Thai series ‘’Be my favorite'', he is a quick briefing that is going to explain my shower.

Kawi is a hardworking adult who hates his life and thinks that by going back in time, he would be able to fix all his misdoings in it. One day, Kawi gets lucky and obtains a magical ball, which makes time travel possible.

So, back to my shower thought: what do you think about it? What do you think would happen if Kawi dropped the ball midway through his journey? This question was never talked about in the series. Honestly, magical objects in TV series and movies should come with a handbook.

‘’What if we are truly just made up? What if we are all just main and side characters in a novel? Maybe matrix theory isn’t so far-fetched!’

I doubt I am the only one thinking about this! This thought especially bugged my mind when I was watching a Korean TV series called ‘’Extraordinary You'', which has a unique plot where the main heroine realizes that her whole existence is a lie and she is just a minor side character.

This thought often pops up in my head whenever something bad happens in my life, and as I keep getting older and the science is moving forward... Who knows what reality is? But if, by chance, I am in a novel or something, it must be some psychological thriller or something.

‘’What if Makino never spilled stuff on F4 leader Domyoji? Would the red string of fate work?’

Hana Yori Dango is a popular TV series classic that has had countless remakes, and you can bet that I have seen every single one. It is an enemies-to-lovers story, and the whole thing starts with the female lead spilling stuff on the rich and spoiled male lead. But what if that never happened? Would Makino still captivate Domyoji, and would he pursue her?

‘’The romance wouldn’t happen if the house didn’t collapse.’

Just like with Hana Yori Dango, this thought came after watching the numerous versions of Itazura na Kiss. The main lead romance starts because the female lead suddenly loses her home and must crash at her crush's house, which creates a perfect space for the romance to bloom. But would the romance bloom if they weren’t stuck together in the same house?

‘’What kind of entrance process did the Squid Game guards have to go through? How did the interview process look?’

Okay, I know, many people came to Dramaland because of this particular TV series, and it is truly great if you are into death games, but that is not the point of my shower thought. Even if you didn’t see Squid Game, from the trailers, you can see that the whole game is operated by people in red jumpsuits. How did those people get that job? Was it through the dark web, or what? What was the job description? Look, there were many guards, so I doubt they posted the work notice on some private forum. Can one safe country, such as South Korea, have so many dark web users? Nah, doubt it. So, where did they get the job?

‘’What if the demons in major TV series or movies are not Christians? Do they still disappear with Christian exorcism?’

I have this thought about many TV series and movies that talk about demons or ghosts. It’s difficult to name all of the projects with a religious theme, but let’s take The Divine Fury as an example. We have Catholic priests trying to fight evil demons, but what if the demon is simply not Christian? What if they are atheists? Can there even be an atheist demon?!

‘’If Se Ri checked the weather forecast better, she wouldn’t end up in North Korea.’

I mean, this is self-explanatory. Korean TV series have many cliché scenes, but this one is unique, I must say. Not many series have wind as the culprit, but look, Crash Landing on You has done it!

‘’Does Do Bong Soon ever feel depressed because of her power?’’

If you don’t know who Do Bong Soon is, let me introduce you quickly to a superwoman who possesses superwoman strength. While the series ‘’Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’’ showed that Bong Soon is depressed at the thought of losing her powers, does she ever feel a bit depressed because she is too strong? I mean, Edward Cullen was pretty concerned about not hurting his love, Bella, with his strong touch. Does Bong Soon sometimes feel the same towards her partner?

CONCLUSION

We have reached the end of the article, and I do hope that you had a good laugh, because that was my goal. Other than laughter, though, I do hope that I made you think about the said topics. I cannot wait to read your answers! I have many more shower thoughts, so do let me know if you would like another deep dive into my weird brain.

PS: What Dramaland shower thoughts do you have?
